Four Vikings reached double figures Thursday night to lead Cass Midway past the visiting Orrick Bearcats 76-40.
Cass Midway jumped out to a 25-12 lead after 8 minutes, but Orrick could manage just a pair of field goals and a free throw in the second period as the Bearcats fell behind 44-17 by the half. Cass Midway held a 20-12 scoring edge in the third period and closed out the game with a 12-11 fourth-quarter advantage.
“We played better defensively and there were moments when we moved the ball around well and were aggressive offensively,” Orrick Coach Jared McMahon said. “If we get rid of the turnovers and transition points we give up, then it is a different ballgame.”
