Melva Dean Danner, 89 of Richmond, formerly of Orrick, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at her home in Richmond.
Melva was born Oct. 11, 1923 at Orrick, the daughter of Frank and Sarah (Hendrix) Brinkley. She was married to Jess Danner of Richmond Dec. 23, 1939; he preceded her in death May 4, 1981.
Survivors include three daughters: Donna Pigg of Orrick, Bonnie Parker of Fordland, and Lydia Wyse of Richmond. 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 10 great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, two brothers, Harold and Lee Brinkley; six sisters, Rhoda Loyd, Louise McKey, Fanny Black, Ora, Edna, and Ethel Claypole.
Melva had lived in the Orrick area most of her life. She and her husband owned and operated Danner Liquor Store in Fleming, Danner’s Café in Orrick and Hardin Dairy Dip. She was also an Avon Sales Representative for many years. She was member of the Fleming Baptist Church.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the donor’s choice.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Interment will be in Richmond Memory Garden Cemetery.
