Jimmie R. Bales, 81, of Kansas City, Kan. died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at the Kansas City Presbyterian Manor in Kansas City, Kan.
Jimmie was born July 4, 1931 in Hardin, to Jerry and Elizabeth (McComas) Bales; he married Katharina Kopp of Zweisel, West Germany May 24, 1954; she survives of the home.
Jimmie was self-employed as a distributor for R.B. Rice for 30 years. He was a member of the Hardin Christian Church. He had lived in Kansas City, Kan. most of his life. He was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He was an active member of the Abdallah Shrine Temple.
Survivors include his daughter, Katharina Babich of Independence; and brother, Jerry Mac Bales and his companion, Janice Buhrmeister of Richmond.
In addition to his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by his son, Jimme Roe Bales, II, brother, Richard Bales and sister, Eleanor Grandestaff.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m. at the Hardin Cemetery in Hardin. Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. On-line condolences may be left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
