2012 tax statements for Ray County residents have been mailed, according to Ray County Collector Margie Bowman.
Payments can be made with cash, check, money order or credit card. A fee will be added for credit card payments. Taxes can be paid in the collector’s office, by mail or online at www.raycountycollector.com. Print the confirmation page for your records along with the page listing vehicles for personal property taxes. A paid receipt will be mailed for online payments.
Payments must be postmarked by Dec. 31 to avoid penalties.
The collector’s office will be opened 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, closed Nov. 22 and 23 for Thanksgiving and closed at noon Dec. 24 and Dec. 25 for Christmas.
Those who don’t receive a personal statement for a vehicle owned Jan. 1, 2012 should contact the assessor’s office. Individuals with an escrow account for real estate taxes should forward the statement to their mortgage company.
Return the bottom portion of the tax statement, tabulate the fees and sign your check, Bowman said. Those with questions, can contact the collector’s office at 816-776-2187.
