The Chiefs scored on their first two drives of the evening with Ben Reeders running in from 11 yards out, followed by the first of Martinez’s touchdowns on a five-yard run. Martinez added a 15-yard run with just 2:24 remaining in the half to give the Chiefs a 21-0 cushion at the break. Dennis opened the second half with an eight-yard run to cap a 12-play 59-yard Bearcat scoring drive to get the visitors on the board and cut the Chiefs’ advantage to 21-8 following the run for two points. Santa Fe answered three minutes later with Martinez scoring on an 18-yard jaunt followed by the conversion pass to give the Chiefs a 29-8 lead heading into the final period.
The Bearcats converted a fourth and one on the Santa Fe 41-yard line to keep a 12-play scoring drive alive. Dennis finished the Orrick drive with a five-yard run and followed with the conversion.
