Elvin Lowell Sandy, 89, Richmond, passed away, Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at the Belton Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Sandy was born Nov. 16, 1922, in Rockingham, the son of Rawley Samuel and Angie (Keim) Sandy. On Dec. 1, 1951, Elvin married Joan (Clemens) Sandy in Eureka Springs, Joan survives of the home.
Mr. Sandy served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Rockingham Church of the Brethren.
In addition to his wife, Joan Sandy of Richmond, surviors include: two sisters, Imogene Bushnan of Richmond and Geneinve Herring of Norborne; one son, Kenneth W. Karl of New Mexico; three grandchildren, Michael Karl, Robert Karl and Brandon Karl; seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Elvin was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Sandy, Stanley Sandy; one sister, Dorothy Kassen and one infant sister.
A memorial visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 3, at the Polley Funeral Home, Richmond, burial to follow at the Wakenda Cemetery, Hardin.
