A reshuffling of the schedule at the last minute paid off for the Lady Spartan golf team Monday afternoon. Richmond’s meeting at the Shirkey Golf Course was canceled by Kearney due to a scheduling conflict, so Lawson and Plattsburg moved their match to Shirkey to make it a triangular.
All three teams are slated to compete at Shirkey Monday in the Class 1, District 7 tournament.
The Lady Spartans improved to 7-2 in dual competition by winning two matches. Richmond shot 211, with Plattsburg carding a 226 and Lawson combined for a 244.
“We were able to get some things accomplished,” Richmond Coach Murray
Dennis said. “It also gave us the opportunity to honor our one senior, Zoe Harper, in her final home match of her high school career. Zoe has meant a lot to our program and has provided us with great leadership this season. Zoe is kind of quiet, but she does a great job of leading by example, and this year was no exception.”
