Warrensburg placed six runners in the top 10 as the Tigers dominated the Marshall Invitational cross country meet Saturday morning. Justin Persell had the top Richmond finish to help the Spartans to a third-place showing behind Warrensburg with 20 points and third-place Sedalia Smith-Cotton with 68.
Andrew Gordon of Kirksville had the top individual finish with his time of 16 minutes, 33 seconds. Warrensburg runners then filled in the next six spots ahead of Persell, who placed eight with a time of 17:42. Matthew Tweedie came in with a time of 18:14 to earn a top-20 finish at No. 16. Wyatt Bulk finished 26th with 19:08, followed by Roy Branson in 19:09, Ethan Turner in 20:01 (45th) and Jackson Pence in 21:53 (61st).
Mary Beth Bailey paced the Lady Spartan runners with her fifth-place showing in 21:28.
