William H. “Bill” Stigall, 84, of Richmond died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 at his son’s home in Kansas City, Mo.
Bill was born on Dec. 4, 1927 in Crystal City. His parents were William E. and Pearl (Hurst) Stigall. He married Bessie E. Eakin of Iola, Kan. on May 29, 1948; she survives of the home.
Bill worked for TWA as a metal mechanic for 26 years before retiring in 1989. He was also a farmer. He loved to hunt and fish. Bill was a United States Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church. Bill lived in Richmond most of his life.
Additional survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, William L. “Skip” and Kimberly Stigall of Knoxville, Tenn. and Steven H. and Sheryl Stigall of Kansas City; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher and Christine Stigall, Shannon Stigall, Scott and Karen Stigall, Stephanie and Phillip Davis, Bryan Stigall, Jennifer and John Phillips, Megan Stigall and Nicholas Stigall; and 13 great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Gott, Irvin Null and Donald Dixon; and two sisters, Jesley Todd and Daisey Moore.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 1, at 1:30 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 31, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
