My name is Rob Kinnard. I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank the following Churches, businesses and individuals for their support from July 28 to Aug. 14 for the Pans of Praise mission team from Trinidad and Tobago.
I was introduced to the Director of Pans of Praise Ken Babwah at a Global Focus Conference in Lebanon (Missouri) in 2006 where he and I were featured missionaries. During that time I was introduced to the Pans of Praise and Ken told me of mission needs in Trinidad.
We stayed in touch over the years and finally I was able to take a team of six people from this area to minister through the Sports, Construction and Prison ministries in February of this year. The team from the United States served along side of the Pans of Praise and we began to talk about bringing their team to Missouri.
God opened the door for them to come and not only perform concerts but to serve at Grand Oaks Children’s Camp in Chillicothe as cabin leaders, kitchen workers, missions and recreation leaders.
For two weeks, the Pans of Praise visitors were hosted by First Baptist Church in Richmond and performed at First Baptist churches here and in Lexington, at Lawson Baptist, Calvary Baptist in Rayville, Gilliam Baptist and Christian Fellowship Ministries.
I would like to thank each of these Churches and its leadership for offering the Pans of Praise the privilege to share in their services. In addition I would like to thank Shirkey nursing home in Richmond and Benchmark nursing home in Lexington for allowing us to come in to perform as well.
Also, Kids Korner in Lexington enjoyed spending time with the team from Trinidad. A huge thanks to the area businesses and other Churches that supported the Pans of Praise: Dr. Dave Rich from Lexington, Jobes Auto Care, Linda Emley from the Ray County Museum for a great tour, The Lexington News, Grand Oaks Camp, Liberty Hospital for its article in the Glimpses newsletter, Missouri Valley Baptist Association, Riggins Corporation of Marshall, Wellington Christian Fellowship and Insight Eye Care of Richmond.
Many individuals also helped to make their stay a success as well: Eric Johnson, Pam Mobley, Frank and Martha Oyler, Jr, Vicky Anderson, Linda and Josh Wandell, Mike Hooks, Mary Kinnard, Mark Guy, Mike Gilliam, Jesse Gilliam, Steve Zumalt, Haley Hooks, John and Becky Wier, Chris and Cherith Wier, Paul Patterson, Ashlyn Wilbur, Janis Lanning, Penny Shank, Tom and Sherry Hayes, Brian and Deanna Guy, Pastor Jim Herod, Josh Anderson, Patrick Ryan Director of Missions for Missouri Valley Baptist Association, Joe Nichols, Chris Weber, Brian McCorkle, The Deacons of First Baptist Lexington, the Ministry Leadership Team from First Baptist Richmond, and all the behind-the-scene people that helped out so much.
The efforts of all these caring people helped raise over $10,000 in various donations over the last two weeks to help the Pans of Praise continue to serve across the United States.
Thanks again everyone!
