Gary G. Rimmer, 65, of Richmond, died at 11:02 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012 at the North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City.
Gary was born March 3, 1947 in Excelsior Springs, to Glenn E. and Helen (Burnett) Rimmer. He married Veronica L. Gingles of Richmond. They have been married for twenty-five years. She survives of the home.
Gary was a trackman for the Santa Fe Railroad for twenty-six years before he retired in 1995. He was of the Christian faith. He had lived in Richmond most of his life.
Additional survivors include; two sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew Rimmer of Grain Valley, and Stacy Rimmer of Blue Springs, Joshua and Olga Harvey of Cashion, Okla., one daughter, Wanda “Wendy” Morris of Kansas City, Mo., one brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Donna Rimmer of Richmond, one sister, Linda Thomas of Norborne, four grandchildren, Erin Morris, Trevor Rimmer, Brenden Rimmer and Colten Harvey. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Rimmer, one brother, Glenn “Eugene” Rimmer, one nephew, Ernie Rimmer and one brother-in-law, Leroy Thomas.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Gary G. Rimmer Memorial Fund.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m. at South Point Cemetery, near Orrick. A visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
