Holly Elizabeth Finkel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Finkel of Denver, Colo., married William Taylor Hockemeier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Curt Hockemeier of Atlanta, Ga., Saturday, June 2. Taylor Hockemeier is the grandson of A.E. (Abbie) Hockemeier and the late Rosemary Hockemeier of Richmond.
The bride is employed by McKesson Provider Technologies as a Document Management Sales Executive and the groom is a Wind Energy Project Manager for Renewable Energy Systems.
The late afternoon wedding took place under the cloudless sky beside Lake Keowee at The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards in Sunset, S.C., just as the sun began to set at 6:30 p.m. Guests were greeted by a bubbly bar of Prosecco and San Pellegrino before being seated.
The bride wore a wedding dress designed by Pronovias of Barcelona – a torino taffeta A-line gown with a V-neck halter neckline. The train was chapel-length for the ceremony and bustled into a French bustle for the reception. She carried a bouquet of purple wild flowers. The groom wore a Hugo Boss khaki suit with open collar and a rosemary boutineer to honor his grandmother. The groom’s sisters, Ms. Greer Hockemeier of Arlington, Va., and Ms. Sloane Hockemeier of Hoboken, N.J., were two of five bride’s maids and stood with their brother and two groomsmen. The wedding party wore shades of blue. The groom’s dog, Buckley, a Scottish Terrier, also stood up for the groom and wore a bow tie.
Guests danced to the music of Atlanta band, Bobby and the Aristocats, under strings of market lights, as the sounds wafted over the still lake. Chef-attended stations offered food favorites of the bride and groom, including braised short ribs, seared salmon and orzo pasta. In place of a wedding cake, mini desserts included chocolate souffle cake, strawberry rhubarb crisp, vanilla bean creme brulee and peach cobbler.
Attending the wedding from the Richmond area were Mr. Abbie Hockemeier; Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Hockemeier (Farrell Hockemeier, the groom’s uncle and Godfather, officiated); Ms. Jessica Hockemeier; Mr. Ryan White, Mr. and Mrs. Max Hockemeier; Mr. Ben Hockemeier; Ms. Olivia Adkison and Miss Harper Adkison and Mr. Gus Hockemeier.
After a honeymoon in Italy’s Tuscany region, the couple is at home at 30 Victoria Lane, Frostburg, MD 21532.
