Miss Ashley Erin Smith and Drew Michael Taylor were united in marriage Dec. 31, 2011 at the Wynbrick Event Center in Liberty. The ceremony was officiated by Rev. Chris Cox of Hardin Baptist Church. Music for the ceremony consisted of traditional selections performed by a harp. The reception followed the ceremony at the same location with a hors d’oeuvres buffet.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dorris Smith, Jr. of Camden. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Patricia Strider and the late Kenneth Strider, and Mr. Dorris Smith, Sr. and the late Nancy Smith of Richmond. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andy Taylor of Jonesboro, Ark. He is the grandson of Mrs. Sheryl Taylor and the late Ambers Taylor of Jonesboro, and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Gregson of Evening Shade, Ark.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory strapless gown with beaded lace that draped across the pleated empire bodice. The dress had an asymmetrical dropped waist with a semi-cathedral train complimented by a fingertip veil. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white gerbera daisies.
Miss Lindsey Smith, sister of the bride, served as Maid of Honor. The flower girl was Shelby Taylor, sister of the groom. The Maid of Honor and flower girl both wore one-shoulder tea-length dresses in royal blue satin and carried white gerbera daisies.
Mr. Jordan Taylor, cousin of the groom of Jonesboro, served as Best Man. The ring bearer was Mathew Smith and ushers were Jeffery Smith and Joshua Smith, all cousins of the bride of Hardin.
The bride is a 2007 graduate of Orrick High School in Orrick and a 2011 graduate of Missouri University of Science and Technology of Rolla with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management Systems. The groom is a 2005 graduate of Westside High School in Jonesboro and a 2010 graduate of Missouri University of Science and Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering.
Following a honeymoon in Jamaica, Ashley and Drew will reside in Pembroke, Va. where Drew is employed at an underground limestone mine, operated by Lhoist North America.
