MONDAY, DECEMBER 5

  • Beginning at 5:15 p.m. with weigh-in, Weight Watchers will meet at the Ray County Health Department, 820 E. Lexington St., Richmond.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 6

  • Beginning at 6:30 p.m., Paradise Playhouse Dinner Theatre and Events Center is making plans for an open mic night for comedians. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the contest begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.  To enter the contest, phone the box office at 816-630-3333.
  • At 7 p.m., the Ray County Community Arts group will hold its monthly board meeting at the Eagleton Center in Richmond.  The meeting is open to the public. WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 7

  • From 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Tri-County Mental Health Services Family Support Group will meet in the day program area of Tri-County’s offices at the Northland Human Services Center, 3100 NE 83rd St., Kansas City North. Discussion includes ideas for supporting a friend, family member or loved one with mental illness, along with sharing and support from others with similar experiences. Refreshments will be served. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9

  • At 7 p.m., the Orrick Jam at the Orrick Community Center.  Country, gospel and bluegrass music.  For more information call Rick 816-630-4773.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10

  • Beginning at 9 a.m., Fleming Baptist Church Food Pantry will have a bake sale at Richmond Apple Market.  All donations will go toward purchasing food for the needy in our local area.
  • Beginning at 1 p.m,, The Ray County Genealogical Association will hold its Christmas meeting at the Ray County Museum.  Those attending are asked to bring a Christmas snack and a favorite childhood toy.  The public is invited to join us for the meeting and see the special museum display of antique toys.
  • At  6:30 p.m., the Country Hoedown will be held at the Legion Hall in Holt. Come play, sing or listen. Bring snacks to share. Coffee, soft drinks and tea are provided. Donations benefit the Legion to aid in community projects. For more information, call 816-637-2053.

Richmond AA meeting schedule : Mondays noon and 8pm, Tuesdays noon and 8pm, Wednesdays noon ,Thursdays noon, Friday noon and 8pm, Saturday noon and 8pm, Sunday noon and 6pm (Big Book Study) Is and 3rd Fridays and Sunday 6pm are open meetings. Al-anon meets at 7pm on Wednesdays both groups meet at 304 W. Franklin, Richmond.
