MONDAY, DECEMBER 12

  • Beginning at 5:15 p.m. with weigh-in, Weight Watchers will meet at the Ray County Health Department, 820 E. Lexington St., Richmond.
  • From 6 to 7:30 p.m., Alzheimers Support Group will meet in the Common Room at the Ray County Library. For more information, call Robin Watkins at 816-776-5403.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 13

  • Beginning at 11:30 a.m., Allen-Morton-Watkins Chapter of DAR will hold its annual Christmas luncheon at Hometown Pizza.  Reservations requested.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 16

  • At 5 p.m., The Ray County Senior Center and God Squad present a dinner and show. “Hee Haw” begins at 6:30 p.m., dinner will be served beginning at 5 p.m.,  with tickets $10 per person.  The event will be at the Eagleton Building, 1015 W. Royle, Richmond. Contact the senior center at 816-470-5808  for tickets.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 17

  • From 7 to 10 p.m., the Country Shindig will play at the Lawson Community Center. Refreshments provided. Admission is free; donations are welcome. For more information, call 816-628-0279.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 18

  • At 10 a.m.,  Richmond United Methodist Church, located at 212 West Main St. in Richmond, will present its annual Christmas Cantata during the regular Sunday worship service. For more information, call 816-776-2122.
  • At 11 a.m., Dockery Baptist Church, 15049 Dockery Rd. in Richmond, will have its Christmas program.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 20

  • From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., a free Empower kidney disease class will be offered at North Kansas City Hospital. Classes will teach participants how to take control of kidney disease and make healthy choices. For more information or to register for classes, call 816-842-0076.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 21

  • From 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.,  Fleming Baptist Church will distribute Harvesters food.  Please bring pantry card or utility bill and boxes for food.  The program serves Camden, Fleming, Hardin, Henrietta, Orrick, Rayville and Richmond.  Contact 816-776-7261 or 776-7625. No delivery service.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 24

  • At 5:30 p.m., Richmond United Methodist Church, located at 212 West Main Street in Richmond, will hold their Annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service. United Methodist Church has an open communion table and all are welcome to receive. For more information, call 816-776-2122.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 25

  • At 11 a.m., Dockery Baptist Church 15049 Dockery Road in Richmond will have their Christmas service.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 27

  • Meeting times for Richmond AA and Al-Anon are:  Mondays noon and 8 p.m., Tuesdays noon and 8 p.m., Wednesdays at noon, Thursdays at noon, Fridays noon and 8 p.m., Saturdays noon and 8 p.m., Sundays noon and 6 p.m. Big Book Study, an open meeting, is the third Friday and Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. Al-Anon meets at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. Both groups meet at 304 W. Franklin, Richmond.
