MONDAY, NOVEMBER 7

  • Beginning at 5:15 p.m. with weigh-in, Weight Watchers will meet at the Ray County Health Department, 820 E. Lexington St., Richmond.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8

  • At 1:30 p.m., The Allen-Morton-Watkins Chapter of NSDAR will meet at the Richmond United Methodist Church.  Mary Lynn Tolle will present the program, “Pins and Protocol.”  Betty Martin and Linda Emley are hostesses.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 10

  • From 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., Before Hours at the Chamber of Commerce office kicking off the Christmas Extravaganza.
  • From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Ladies Auxillery will host a $6 Jewelry Sale in the Ray County Memorial Hospital Commons.
  • Starting at 8:30 a.m.  at the Richmond Middle School. OPAA  will provide a breakfast for Ray County veterans.
  • From 7 to 9 p.m., GriefShare recovery and seminar support group for people grieving the deaths of loved ones will meet at the Old Union Christian Union Church, 17990 N. Union Rd., Lawson. GriefShare features nationally recognized experts on grief and recovery topics. For more information, call Nada Austin at 816-296-3854.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 11

  • From 7 to 10 a.m., American Legion Auxiliary will be hosting a free biscuits-and-gravy breakfast for all veterans and their spouses at the Veterans Building.
  • From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Salvation Army will host a Musical Christmas Open House and Fundraiser with bake sale and craft items at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 306 West Main Street.  Live music box collections, snowmen scenes, quilts, Santas around the world, table settings and nativities.
  • From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Richmond Christian Union Church will hold a church bazaar and bake sale at 415 E. N. Main, Richmond.  Refreshments will be served by the G.I.F.T. Club.
  • At 11 a.m., Veterans Day Celebration at the Ray County Courthouse with guest speakers; State Representative Bob Nance, RHS Principal John Parker, RHS marching band, Sunrise Elementary 5th Graders.
  • At 7 p.m., the Orrick Jam at the Orrick Community Center.  Country, gospel adn bluegrass music.  For more information, call Rick 816-630-4773.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 12

  • From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Salvation Army will host a Musical Christmas Open House and Fundraiser, with bake sale and craft items,  at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 306 West Main St..  Live music box collections, snowman scenes, quilts, Santas around the world, table settings and nativities.
  • From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Richmond Christian Union Church will hold a church bazaar and bake sale at 415 E. N. Main, Richmond.  Refreshments will be served by the G.I.F.T. Club.
  • From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Hardin Loafs & Fishes Food Pantry will host a crafts bizarre at the United Hardin Methodist Church.  Their will be both craft and food vendors on hand.  Any questions please call Rose Gavoli 660-398-4659.
  • At 1 p.m., The Ray County Genealogical Association will hold its annual dinner meeting and election of officers at the Ray County Museum. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish and the association will furnish meat and table service.  There will be a drawing for free memberships and other door prizes.
  • Beginning at 6 p.m., Orrick Lions Club turkey bingo at the Orrick Lions Club, Front Street, Orrick.  Chili and soup will be available to purchase starting at 6 p.m. bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. ten games will be played.
  • Beginning at 6 p.m. Harley Race and World League Wrestling return to Richmond. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $15 for Golden Circle seating if you buy in advance. Ticket outlets are as follows: Richmond City Hall, Apple Market and the Academy Bank in Walmart. All locations are in Richmond.   • At 6:30 p.m., the Bob Ross Painting Class, sponsored by the Ray County Community Arts Association, will be held at the United Christian Presbyterian Church. The church is located at 501 N. Spartan Drive in Richmond. The class will be taught by a certified Bob Ross instructor. The fee is $40 and includes instruction and supplies.   • From 8 till 11 a.m., Jeffrey Kyles is going to be doing a fundraiser for Christmas for kids. They are having a breakfast fundraiser, all  proceeds stay locally.   • At 7 p.m., there will be a Community Thanksgiving Service at Richmond Christian Chapel, 801 S. Wollard Blvd,  Richmond.  Bill Purcell, Chaplain at Shirkey Leisure Acres will be preaching.  After teh service Thanksgiving desserts will be served.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 24

  • At 8 a.m., The Hardin Community Betterment Association presents Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run/Walk on Thanksgiving morning, at Ivaloo Park. On-site registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The event costs $20 which includes a t-shirt. All proceeds benefit renovation of Ivaloo Park.
