See You at the Pole, the global day of student prayer, began in 1990 as a grass roots movement with ten students praying at their school. More than two decades later, millions around the world pray at their campuses on the fourth Wednesday in September. SYATP is simply a prayer rally where students meet at the school flagpole before school to lift up their friends, families, teachers, school, and nation to God. SYATP is a student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led event.

Allie Burstert, Shelby Day, Charlsey Whelchel and Tyra Hill, members of GRACE youth group from Henrietta First Baptist Church, met at Richmond High School at 7 a.m., Wednesday, September 28th to pray at the flagpole. The 2011 theme was converge and the scripture was Matthew 18:20 — “Whenever two or three of you come together in my name, I am there with you.”

Also present were Pastor Mike Hibbard and Rhonda Taber, Minister of Youth.
