The Orrick Bearcats’ home season ended with a thud Friday night as they hosted the Lawson Cardinals on senior night. Lawson took advantage of making 31 trips to the free throw line for a 63-32 victory.
The Cardinals hit 15 of those attempts to go along with 8 field goals, while Orrick made 9 shots from the field and converted half of its 16 free throws. Bearcat Coach Morgan Dickson said his team could not overcome all of its mistakes.
“Not a very good performance by the home team on senior night,” he said. “We committed too many turnovers and fouls and never really made a game of it. We played hard, but had a let down after playing so well the last couple of weeks.”
Twelve Cardinals scored at least one point with Marcus Hales leading the way with 10, while Clark Hewitt and Tanner Turentine each added 9.
