The Lady Spartans won their 10th game of the season Thursday, defeating Carrollton 44-31 with what their coach calls “unselfish team basketball.”
After some initial anxiety in the first quarter, coach Dave Littrell said the girls settled down and eventually controlled the tempo.
“The girls turned up their defensive pressure, especially in the third quarter, which allowed us to go on a 14-0 run,” he said. “We made a little adjustment at the half and then the kids just came out and blanked them.”
The team turned up the defensive pressure on Carrollton’s post players was a key factor, Littrell said, which helped spark the offense.
“Overall, it was a great team win tonight,” Littrell said.
