Using a balanced offensive attack and a defense that held Hardin-Central to 26-percent shooting, the Orrick Lady Bearcats chalked up their 12th victory of the season Friday night with a 57-31 win over the visitors.
Orrick, now 12-2, also gained some measure of revenge from an earlier loss to the Lady Bulldogs that snapped a seven-game winning streak.
“We played very well,” Orrick Coach Mitch Comstock said. “The girls were excited to play Hardin after losing to them at the Wellington Tournament. It was a great team win. When we have four girls score in double figures, we are very hard to stop. This was one of our best defensive efforts of the year.”
Amanda Rodenberg led Orrick scoring with 14 points to go along with 10 rebounds, while Shelby Harth added 11 points and 5 steals. Also for the Lady Bearcats, Megan Swartz scored 11 points and Amy Isenhour chipped in 10 points and 7 steals. Allison Oyler was the lone Lady Bulldog to reach double digits with 10 points.
