Unlike their earlier win over Gallatin, Friday night’s 36-30 victory wasn’t quite the nail-biter for the Richmond Lady Spartans. The Richmond girls earned their second tournament trophy in a row as they stopped the Lady Bulldogs 36-30 to take consolation at the Hamilton Invitational.
Richmond opened the Lawson Invitational last month with a 2-point victory over Gallatin on the way to earning some third-place hardware.
The Lady Spartans improved to 8-8 for the season, but fell behind 8-7 at the end of the first quarter. The Richmond offense would find its range by hitting in double digits in the second and third periods, while the defense continued its solid play by holding the Lady Bulldogs to single digits throughout the night.
