With the Orrick offense sputtering just a bit, the Bearcat defense took over Friday night in a 47-28 home victory over Hardin-Central.
Both teams struggled shooting the ball throughout the night, but Orrick Coach Morgan Dickson gave credit to the Bulldog defense for his team’s problems.
“Coach Thacker had his guys playing a solid 2-3 defense and we did a poor job of scoring most of the game,” Dickson said. “We finally got some steals and easy buckets to build a lead in the second quarter.”
Orrick grabbed a 9-4 lead after the first 8 minutes. Cameron McGlothlin got the Bearcat offense going in the second period as he hit for 10 of his 14 points to push Orrick to a 23-11 lead at the intermission.
