The Richmond Spartans quickly put Friday night’s slow start and loss behind them as they cruised to a 77-39 victory over Gallatin Monday.
The Spartans had lots of contributors in their opening game of the Hamilton Invitational with four players in double figures among the 10 scorers.
The win pushes second-seeded Richmond to 9-6 for the season and another pool game Thursday night at 6 with third-seeded West Platte.
The Spartans hit 12 baskets from outside the 3-point arc with Blaine Broderick knocking down four of them on the way to a 16-point night. Caleb Benhardt hit three of them, all in the fourth quarter, as he scored 11, with Cody Gorham making a pair and Da’Ron Jenkins and Zach McGill connecting on one each.
