The Hardin-Central Lady Bulldogs have set up a rematch of last year’s Braymer Invitational title game with Southwest. The Lady Dawgs improved to 7-2 after holding off Tina-Avalon 62-56 in Monday night’s semifinal.
Darcy Jenkins scorched the nets for 33 points to lead the Dragons, while Megan Layman countered with 27 points for Hardin-Central. Layman hit 9 of her 12 field goals, and 8 of 12 free throws for the Lady Dawgs. Hardin-Central held a 36-21 advantage at the half, but T-A rallied in the third period, 21-6, to tie the game heading into the final 8 minutes.
Hardin-Central converted 21 of 32 free throws, including 10 of 16 in the fourth quarter, while the Dragons hit 15 of 24 attempts from the stripe.
Allison Oyler was 8 of 11 from the line as she added 12 points for Hardin-Central, and Frankie Chilcutt hit 3 of 5 free throws on her way to an 11-point and 11-rebound night.
