Bearcat offense struggles

Orrick scored 11 points in the opening period Friday night in the consolation game of the I-70 Tournament at Wellington-Napoleon, but then managed just single digits in the remaining three quarters as the Bearcats lost to St. Paul 48-26.
Bearcat Coach Morgan Dickson said his squad played well for three quarters and played good defense throughout the night, but just couldn’t get the offense going as Orrick dropped to 1-2 for the young season.
The Saints offense got 18 points from Jordan Bredehoeft and 16 more from Brandon Hanke. Bredehoeft hit 7 of 10 free throws in the fourth quarter as the Saints outscored Orrick 17-3.
St. Paul ended the night hitting 13 of its 20 attempts from the stripe, while the Bearcats visited the line just 9 times and converted 3 of them.
Clayton Jones led the Bearcats scoresheet with 10 points, with Kalija Rogers and Ty Griffin adding 5 each. Cameron McGlothlin added 3 points, followed by Larry Blair with 2 and Calvin O’Dell with a free throw.
