The Hardin-Central Lady Bulldogs passed their first test of the new basketball season with flying colors Monday night with an 82-12 victory over visiting Breckenridge. The Lady Dawgs jumped out to a 28-4 first-quarter lead and coasted from there.
Allison Oyler was one of three Hardin-Central players to reach double figures with 20 points, followed by Megan Layman with 19 and Angelica Bradley with 14. In addition to her scoring, Oyler had 4 steals with a half-dozen assists, with Layman hitting the boards to grab 5 rebounds to go along with 6 steals.
Frankie Chilcutt had a team-high 6 rebounds with 4 steals, while Ashley Ross and Kayla Carrillo grabbing 5 boards apiece. Chilcutt also had 8 points, with Shona Hall hitting for 9 points. Every Lady Bulldog reached the scoring column with Lindsey Arbogast adding 4 points, with Morgan Griggs, Carrillo, Ross and Hannah Noelker chipping in 2 each.
Hardin-Central visited the free throw line 27 times for the game and converted 19 of them, while Breckenridge hit 6 of its 7.
