The Orrick Lady Bearcats chalked up their third I-70 Conference volleyball victory in as many tries Thursday night as they swept visiting Wellington-Napoleon by identical 25-16 scores. After a slow start, the Lady Bearcats have now improved to 6-9-1 overall.
“The girls have really started to play as a team,” Orrick Coach Susan Rodenberg said. “Brooke Endsley was amazing with her serves last night. She almost served the entire game by herself. We also got another strong night from Amanda (Rodenberg).”
Endsley served up 23 points with 8 aces. Rodenberg had 10 kills with 18 attacks at the net to go along with 3 blocks and 3 digs defensively. Amy Isenhour dished out 19 assists for Orrick, with Shelby Harth getting a half dozen kills. Leslie Lafavor had 5 aces among her 7 service points.
Orrick took the junior varsity match after dropping the first game 17-25. The Lady Bearcat JV came back to win the final two 25-23 and 25-18. Chelsie Meyer had 15 service points, with 11 aces. She also had 5 attacks, 5 kills and 4 digs. Amber McAfee also served up 15 points with a half dozen aces.
