After picking up 9 hits one day earlier, the Richmond Lady Spartans kept the offense going on Tuesday with a dozen in a 12-8 MRVC East victory at Holden.
The win pushed Richmond to 2-6 in the league with both victories coming against the Eagles, and to 6-12 overall.
Alex Phillips led the hit chart for Richmond with 3, while driving in a pair of runs. Kayla Hewitt, Stephanie Williams and Chelsea Hook added 2 hits each for the Lady Spartans.
Richmond put 2 runs on the board in the top of the first, but Holden countered with 2 of its own in the home half. Both teams tacked on one more run in the third, but the Lady Spartans grabbed the lead again with 2 in the fourth.
The Lady Eagles pushed 3 runs across in the fifth for a 6-5 advantage, but Richmond answered with a pair of tallies in the sixth. The lead was short-lived with Holden also scoring 2 in the bottom of the frame.
The Lady Spartans put the game away in the top of the seventh with a 5-run outburst that started when MacKenzie McGill reached on an error, followed by a walk to Ashley Williams.
Richmond then got four consecutive singles from Hewitt, Stephanie Williams, Jamie Anderson and Phillips.
Katherine Dale, who entered the game for Lady Spartan starter Adrian Tackett in the second inning, took the dramatics out of the game in the bottom of the inning.
After retiring the first batter on a ground out, the next batter singled, but was caught stealing with catcher Ashley Williams throwing to Hewitt for the put out. The final Lady Eagle flew out to center to end the game.
Dale pitched 5 1/3 innings to earn the victory. The Richmond freshman scattered 9 hits, but only half of the 6 runs she surrendered were earned.
Holden won the junior varsity game, 6-1. Jennifer Waters, Tessa Ramsey, Haley Bentley and Kiersten Baker collected one hit each for Richmond, with Bentley driving in the lone run.
