The Orrick Lady Bearcats picked up their second straight I-70 Conference volleyball victory Tuesday night as they swept a match at Sweet Springs 25-14 and 25-16. After struggling early in the season, the Lady Cats have improved to 5-9-1 overall and 2-0 in the league.
Brooke Endsley hit for a team-high 21 service points. Amanda Rodenberg had 14 kills in 18 attacks, with 3 digs for Orrick, while Amy Isenhour had 21 assists to lead the way in that department. Leslie Lafavor led the team in digs with 4.
The Lady Bearcat junior varsity lost their match in three games. Jessika John had 12 points with Lauren Twyman and Jena Shaw adding 11 apiece, with Shaw hitting 6 aces. Darian Eagleton had a half dozen digs.
Orrick dropped the first game of its home match with Lawson on Monday 21-25, but came back to take the final two games by 25-22 and 25-17 scores to pick up their fourth victory of the season.
Endsley and Shelby Harth had 16 service points apiece for Orrick, with Endsley hitting 7 aces, and Harth hitting for 5 more. Rodenberg had 14 points and a half-dozen aces. Rodenberg also led in kills with 11, while hitting a team-high 5 blocks and 7 digs.
Endsley also had 7 kills and 5 digs, while Isenhour led in assists with 24.
The Orrick JV battled through three games before falling 15-25, 28-26 and 15-25.
Amber McAfee had a dozen service points with John adding 11. McAfee and Shaw led in 5 aces each.
