Bailey Schreier shot a 51 on Wednesday to earn medalist honors and help the Orrick Lady Bearcats edge three other teams in a quad match at the Tri-City Country Club in Emma. Schreier was awarded medalist by winning the scorecard playoff with Odessa’s Taylor Waibel on the par-36 course.
Orrick Coach Courtney Adams was pleased with her team’s season-low score of 216.
“I was proud of Bailey for stepping up,” she said. “She had a great day. I feel good about how well the girls are playing with districts right around the corner.”
Orrick’s total was just a shot ahead of Odessa, followed by Sacred Heart with 240 and St. Paul’s with 248.
Kristee Harris and Alyssa Sands each shot 53 for the Lady Bearcats, with Kailyn Dowell carding a 59, and Bailee Jeffries with 65.
One day earlier, Orrick shot 250 in a dual at Smithville’s Posse Course. The host Warriors won the match with 225.
“The girls played a tough course – probably one of the hardest we have seen all year,” Adams said.
Harris carded a 53 on the par-36 course to take medalist honors by 2 shots over Jessie Lake of Smithville. Schreier shot a 60 for the Lady Bearcats, followed by Sands with 64, Jeffries with 73 and Dowell with a 75.
