The Richmond Lady Spartan volleyball team got back on the winning track Thursday night and kept Orrick winless in a match at the RHS gym. The Lady Spartans bounced back after two straight losses to even up their record at 2-2 with a 25-20, 25-19 victory over the Lady Bearcats.
“The girls did an excellent job of playing together and really stepped up following our two losses,” Richmond Coach Bailey Pierson said. “They started out strong and were able to finish up with a win.”
Mikayla Vanderpool, Ali Svaglic, and Vanessa Pailer paced the Richmond service game with 2 aces each. Vanderpool and Katie Lee added 2 kills apiece, with Brittany Childers, and Kassie Smith adding one each. Stephanie May had a team-high 17 assists with Devvon Daily credited with 4.
Pailer led the way defensively with 4 digs with Katie Lee adding a pair with Childers, May and Pailer getting one block apiece.
Brooke Endsley led Orrick with 7 kills in 19 attacks. She also had 3 digs for the night. Amy Isenhour had 8 points and 3 aces to go along with her team-high 19 assists, while Shelby Harth led in service points with 13.
Amanda Rodenberg had 9 kills with 19 attacks for Orrick.
The junior varsity match lasted three games, with Orrick taking the final two games by identical 25-13 finals after dropping the opening game 21-25.
