Favored Huskers stop RHS

Higginsville showed the Richmond Lady Spartans why they are the team to beat in the MRVC East tennis competition. The Lady Huskers chalked up their second league win in as many outings with a 9-0 victory Thursday over the visiting Lady Spartans.
Richmond dropped its second consecutive match to fall to 2-2 overall and are 0-2 in conference matches.
“We were short-handed going in and it created several mismatches, but the girls handled it well and put out their best effort,” Richmond Coach Zach Danner said. “Higginsville is the top team in the conference and tonight they showed it. They’re an experienced team with six seniors and that gave them the upper hand. We will start working and preparing for Carrollton on Tuesday.”
