A full field of three-man teams took to the Shirkey Golf Course last weekend for the annual triple divot classic. Fifty-five teams took part in the two-day, 36-hole scramble event.
The trio of Spilker, Admire and Sedorcek shot a two-day total of 115 (56-59) to capture first place in the Championship Flight by one shot over Cringan, Ball and Nickerson (57-59). Third place in the flight went to Curry, McRoy and Quattlebaum with 118. Three teams tied for fourth place with 119 – Russell, Riesner and Hoback (56-53); Albright, Zimmerman and Berry (57-62); and Kelley, Kelley and Lujin (59-60).
A Flight saw two teams settle for a tie after each carded a 126.
Pope, Fuston and Harris and the team of Hamilton-Hamilton and Broderick shot identical rounds of 64-62. The teams of Church, Madson and Slocum, and Fletcher, Poole and Marshall shot 64-63 for a 127 total and a tie for third.
Taking B Flight with a two-day total of 131 was the trio of Hilbrenner, Cromley and Stoecklein with 67-64. That was one shot better than the runner-up group of Hensley, Hicklin and Overly with two rounds of 66. There was a tie for third between McKee, Nelson and Daniel, and the team of Hirner, McKown and Cornell with 66-67.
The team of Zeller, Zeller and Zeller won the C Flight with 68-63. Their 131 total was 3 shots better than the two teams that tied for second. Gessley, Driskell and Rae, and the team of Roney, Stroud and Lyndell each carded rounds of 68-66, with the trio of Steele, Templeton and Taylor finishing fourth with back-to-back rounds of 68.
