Shirkey Golf Course hosted the PGA Midwest Section 36-hole Four-ball tournament Monday afternoon. The duo of Jeff Sheppard and Bill Amundsen edged two other teams by a stroke to claim the top money of $535 each.
In four-ball stroke play, each partner plays his own ball with the lower score of the two counting as the score for the hole.
Sheppard and Amundsen teamed up for a 65 on the opening 18 holes, and carded a 67 for the final 18 on the par-71 course.
The team of Rob Wilkin and John Richman tied Blake Graham and Brandon Marshall for the runner-up honors. Wilkin and Richmond shot 66 for the first 18, and followed that up with a 67, while Graham and Marshall shot 67-66. Sean Dougherty and Zac Gavlak placed third after recovering from their first round of 71, by shooting a second-round low score of 64 for a tournament total of 135.
Paul Hooser and Randy Towner shot a 69-67, to tie the duo of Barrett Marten and Tyler Dunn for fifth spot with a pair of 68s for a total of 136.
There were 18 teams in the field.
