Attorneys for accused double murderer Ronald Wrisinger filed for a change of venue last week according to court records.
A conference call was held with prosecutors and Wrisinger’s attorney John P. O’Connor.
Both parties listed their preference but a decision is pending until Wrisinger’s next court date July 1.
In addition, O’Connor also filed for a speedy trial earlier this week. Wrisinger has a right to a speedy trial that is granted by the Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Missouri law requires a defendant to go on trial within 70 days of their first appearance in court.
Wrisinger remains in Ray County Jail on a $500,000 bond although a judge has granted a $100,000 cash plus his signature bond under certain conditions.
