The first Spartan Summer Tennis Tournament is scheduled for June 20 at the new Maurice Roberts Park courts. The tournament, which begins at 8 a.m., will benefit the Richmond High School tennis programs.
There will be divisions for men’s and women’s singles and mixed doubles for those 16 and older. Each singles bracket is open to the first 16 who register, and mixed doubles will be open for the first 16 teams.
There will be plaques and prizes for first- and second-place finishers. Entry fee is $20 for the singles, and $30 for the mixed doubles teams. High school contestants receive a $5 discount. Early registration is encouraged, but there will also be open registration the day of the tournament from 7 to 7:30 a.m. All brackets will be filled by a random draw.
