Accused murderer Ronald Wrisinger remains in jail this morning.
Wrisinger has been charged with two counts of first degree murder for the deaths of this former wife Sherry and daughter Johnna.
The two disappeared in June of 1986 and have not been seen or heard from since.
Sherry was 40 at the time of the disappearance and Johnna was 16. Wrisinger also has two other daughters who were not at home at the time of their alleged disappearance.
Ray County Presiding Judge David Miller ruled yesterday that Wrisinger could post 20 percent of his $500,000 bond on the condition that he remain on electronic monitoring at his sister’s house in St. Joseph.
Ray County Prosecutor Jim Thompson argued against the ruling on Wednesday citing Wrisinger as a threat to flee and a danger to the public. Thompson argued that it took months to report the women’s disappearance because of intimidation.
If Wrisinger is released he is to not have any contact with witnesses to the case including daughters Kristy and LeAndrea.
Wrisinger’s next court date is July 1.
