Five arrested in sting operation

Five people have been arrested for selling drugs in a public housing area and near a school.
The Ray County Sheriff’s Department along with the Missouri Highway Patrol and the Richmond Police Department arrested the five individuals Wednesday night in separate locations, according to a report released by the Ray County Sheriff’s Department.
Christopher M. Swafford was arrested on four counts of Distribution of a Controlled Substance within 2,000 feet of a school. Sherri L. Smith was arrested on one count of Distribution of a Controlled Substance within 2,000 feet of a school. Joseph E. Chrisp was arrested on three counts of Distribution of a Controlled Substance within 1,000 feet of Public Housing or other Government Assisted Housing. Samantha J. Murphree was arrested on two counts of Distribution of a Controlled Substance within Public Housing and one count of Delivery of an Imitation Controlled Substance. Ronald G. Murphree was arrested for one count of Distribution of a Controlled Substance within Public Housing.
The report says the sting operation was a cooperative effort by the three law enforcement agencies and the Richmond Housing Authority.
