Fellow Richmond firefighters and community members gathered at the Richmond Fire House on Tuesday morning, to recognize firefighter Jerrett Love for 13 years of service.
Fire Chief Lonnie Quick presented an intricate glass-etching award to Love for his dedication and service throughout the county and surrounding areas. Love has taken a position with the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District beginning May 4, however he will continue as a volunteer firefighter for Richmond. Mayor Lance Green said, “It has been an honor and a privilege to have Jerrett here. We’ll miss him and having him around. We’re very proud of what he’s accomplished.” One of his comrades said, “We’re happy he’s moving on to the ‘big show.’”
