The Richmond golf team played their third road match of the week on Wednesday as they traveled to Carrollton to meet the Trojans in an MRVC East dual. The Spartans appeared to be just as comfortable on the road as they are at home as they shot a 182, which was 8 shots better than the Trojans turned in on their home course at the Carrollton Country Club.
The Spartans improved to 9-2 overall, and 9-0 in league matches after going 3-1 this week. Carrollton is now 3-4 against MRVC East competition, and 9-11 overall.
The Spartans had the low two scores for the warm and sunny afternoon.
Blaine Broderick carded a 2-over par 37 to take medalist honors, with his Richmond teammate Kane Southwick shooting a 43 to finish as the runner-up. Ty Tweedie followed with 49, while Zach Mathis shot 53, and Andrew Sherman ended the round with 55.
Alex Malloy had the low Carrollton score with a 45, with two Trojans, Andrew Malloy and Ryan Flick, each shooting a 46. Hayden Summers and Asa Floyd each shot a 51 for Carrollton.
The Richmond junior varsity kept its record clean for the season with a 227-234 victory.
Andrew Hellman had the low round for the Spartans and the match medalist with 50, as he edged Carrollton’s Josh Conner by a shot for the honor.
James Stanton shot a 57 for the Richmond JV, followed by Dylan Wyse with 59, Morgan Richey with 61, and Lucas Farabee with 75.
The Trojans had two golfers, Kody Ford and Kody Kemble, each shoot 58.
The Spartans will play in the Cameron Tournament on Friday, and the MRVC Tournament on Monday.
