The Richmond R-XVI School Board will preface its regular monthly meeting with a work session tonight, beginning at 6 p.m. at the District Office located at 1017 E. Main Street in Richmond.
After going over the state education budget status last month, this session will be an overview of the local budget status. The board will be looking at various forms that assist in determining the state funding formula and allocation of those funds.
At 7 p.m., the regular board meeting will begin with the re-elected board members being presented and taking the oath of office before taking their seats. Nominations and elections for President, Vice-President and Treasurer will also take place.
Some of the topics to be presented will be the pre-school program for 2009-2010. The superintendent will discuss the educators’ health insurance renewal information, embedded credit changes and the 2009-2010 budget. Board members that attended the National School Board Association Convention will report on their experience. Resignations and retirements will also be presented.
Under new business to be discussed: a formal resolution to initiate funding for the Dear multi-purpose/safe room, proposal of competitive cheerleading and plans to submit a grant for expanding the alternative school’s policy.
