A Kansas City man has been charged in Ray County for involuntary manslaughter for an accident nearly three years ago.
Christopher W. Stockton, 31, is charged in the death of George C. Purcell who was 18 years old at the time of his death.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on April 19, 2006 at about 1 a.m.,w state troopers and Ray County Ambulance responded to a crash on Route T east of 92nd Street. Purcell was pronounced dead at the scene while Stockton was transported to a parking lot where he could be air lifted to North Kansas City Hospital with serious injuries.
The report says Stockton was in and out of consciousness and smelled of alcohol.
Stockton was reported to be in critical condition upon arriving at North Kansas City Hospital.
Stockton is being charged with vehicular-intoxicated manslaughter which is a
Class C felony.
Stockton is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, April 21.
