Colton Newman of Polo, in wheelchair at right, drew the winning tickets for the raffle at Richmond Apple Market. Maria Beck, bottom left, front row, of Henrietta was the lucky winner of $400 in groceries. “I didn’t want to buy a ticket, but I usually donate.
I didn’t even know what it was for.” She bought the lucky ticket about a half hour before the drawing and said, “It couldn’t have come at a better time.” Beck is working on some electrical issues at her home and the groceries will be appreciated. Marian Lindberg of North Kansas City won the KitchenAid mixer. Lodge member Tom Williams said more than $4,000 of tickets were sold. Bob MacDonald of Apple Market donated a portion of the tickets, and the lodge purchased the remainder. Groundbreaking for the new lodge is set for tomorrow.
