Things looked like it would be a good night for the Richmond Spartan junior varsity Tuesday as they hosted Higginsville.
Richmond scored the first 13 points of the game, but the rest of the night belonged to the Huskers as Higginsville took a 39-23 decision.
The Spartans scored all 10 points in the first period and the first 3 of the second quarter before the Huskers came back to cut the halftime deficit to 13-8.
Higginsville continued its comeback in the third frame and held a 22-17 advantage heading into the final 7 minutes.
The Spartans visited the free throw line only 10 times in the game and converted 3 of them, while Higginsville connected on 10 of 23 from the stripe.
Lucas Hook led Richmond scoring with 7 points, with Ty Tweedie hitting for 6, and D’Vante Lewis adding 4.
Caleb Benhardt, Zach McGill and Justin Ware chipped in 2 apiece.
