An Orrick man charged with raping his ex-girlfriend’s mother will let a jury decide his fate.
Tyler Messer has been charged with one count of forcible rape and one count of burglary.
Messer appeared before Carroll County Associate Judge Kevin Walden last week to set a trial date. Walden was assigned to the case after Messer had requested a change of judge and a change of venue.
His trial is scheduled for two days, beginning June 1.
Messer is currently in the custody of the Ray County Sheriff’s Department and has been since his arrest in July of last year. If convicted, Messer could face anywhere from five years to life in prison.
