Tuesday, Dec. 17 begins the filing date for Declarations for Candidacy for local April 2009 elections. The deadline for filing is Jan. 20, 2009. Below, are many of the positions open for election.
Richmond R-16 School Board: Two school board seats of three-year terms. Interested persons need apply at the district administration office at 1017 E. Main St., during business hours. Filings will not occur when the office is closed during the holiday.
Richmond City Council: Two seats in Ward 1, one being a two-year term, the other a one-year term; one two-year term in Ward 2; two seats in Ward 3, one being a two-year term, the other a one-year term; and one two-year term seat in Ward 4. Interested parties should apply at the Richmond City Clerk’s office, 205 Summit Street, between the hours of 8 a.m. to noon, and 1 to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Stet School Board: The three-year positions of Amy Kincaid and Daniel Armstrong. Interested persons file at the office of the superintendent during the business hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by special appointment for other times.
Village of Rayville: Three councilmen positions of two-year terms and two councilmen positions of one-year terms. Filings for public office should be mailed to: P.O. Box 143, Rayville, MO 64084 or with Collector Betty Mitchell at 214 W. Third St. or City Clerk Linda Campbell at 108 North Lee St. in Rayville.
City of Orrick: The position of mayor and one position on city council. Interested persons file at the Orrick City Hall during normal business hours.
Orrick School Board: Two positions of school board directors, each a three-year term. Interested parties file at the superintendent’s office during regular office hours. On Dec. 23 and Dec. 29 to 31, the hours will be 8 to 11 a.m.
Orrick Fire Protection District: One position on the fire board. Interested persons file at the Orrick City Hall during normal business hours.
City of Henrietta: The position of mayor for a two-year term, and four positions of aldermen-at-large of two-year terms, and the position of tax collection, a two-year term. Interested persons file at the Henrietta City Hall, 406 Main Street.
City of Hardin: The position of mayor for a two-year term and two aldermen positions of two-year terms. Candidates may file at City Hall.
Hardin School Board: Three directors positions. Candidates file at the superintendent’s office.
