Fall weather has always been prime time for hayrides, chilly temperatures, hot chocolate and children. Yesterday, many students of Sunrise Elementary were rewarded with the quarterly Great Escape that rewards students who are fight-free. Two large wagons were lined with straw ‘benches’ for the riders to sit on.
Instead of a team of draft horses, a large John Deere tractor ably navigated the school grounds as the students laughed and sang songs. Counselor Pam Miller expressed the school’s thanks to John Letzig for taking time from his harvest duties to give time to the students. (Photo by Brenda Jensen/The Daily News)
