Ruth Latham’s fourth grade class had the answers to Richmond Firefighter Rob Kinnard’s questions about fire safety. Kinnard and firefighter Jerrett Love conducted the fire safety instruction.
Richmond Fire Department’s Fire Safety House trailer went to Sunrise Elementary yesterday to teach the students how to get out of a smoky room on their hands and knees where clean air is to be found. The trailer simulated smoke and had examples of fire hazards, such as paper towels on a hot stove burner. The students also watched a fire prevention video and learned the proper answers to give in a 911 call. The fire department will continue fire safety education throughout the month at Richmond and Hardin schools.
