Mary E. Lovins, 86, of Marshall, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall.
Mary was born Nov. 20, 1921, in Richmond, the daughter of the late John Louis Wright and Laura L. Webster Wright. In 1941 she married Rev. Chris Owens, and in 1970 she married Don Lovins, both preceded her in death. Mary lived in Richmond until 1949, when she moved to Marshall. She had worked at International Shoe Company and retired in 1997 from Fitzgibbon Hospital.
Survivors include: two grandsons, Lee Thornton of Springfield, and Ronnie Thornton of Kansas City, Mo.; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Maidmant of Richmond, and Mamie Miller of Kansas City, Mo.; several nieces and nephews; and her caregiver for many years, Judy Blalock and family of Marshall.
In addition to her parents and husband, four sisters and one brother, preceded Mary in death.
Memorials may be made to Marshall Baptist Temple.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 13, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Claude Fields officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall.
