Jeannette Lois Rice, 64, of Excelsior Springs, passed away Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at the Excelsior Springs Medical Center.
Jeannette was born June 5, 1944, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Marvin Romaine and Luella Frances (Hildebrandt) Long. She married Douglas Allan Rice Feb. 5, 1961, in Jefferson City; he survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly Bowers and her husband, Bill, of Kearney, and Kellie Johnson and her husband, Larry, of Orrick; one son and daughter-in-law, Douglas Allan Rice, Jr., and his wife, Ursula, of Trimble; her mother, Luella Long of Jefferson City; two brothers, Gene Long of Sacramento, Calif., and Mike Long of Jefferson City; six sisters, Connie Carrier of Lakeland, Fla., D-Ann Wilson and Doris Tatum, both of Carthage, Stephanie Long and Andrea Hoover, both of Jefferson City, and Mary Jo Underwood of Rolla; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and numerous family members.
Her father preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery.
